As a Family Doctor and a parent, I recognize the profoundly positive effects that walking in nature has on my patients, my family, and myself. Being in nature is grounding, awakens our senses, cultivates gratitude, and reminds us that we are a part of the natural world. Although I am often overwhelmed by the Climate Crisis, I was recently reminded that if we let Nature guide us, we just might get it right.
From the brilliant natural science writer, Janine Benyus:
Nature runs on sunlight.
Nature uses only the energy it needs.
Nature fits form to function.
Nature recycles everything.
Nature rewards cooperation.
Nature banks on diversity.
Nature demands local expertise.
Nature curbs excesses from within.
Nature taps the power of limits.
