As we approach the significant Truth and Reconciliation Day, we, as a Family Health Team, reaffirm our commitment to the Indigenous community and the principles it represents. This day serves as a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to foster understanding, healing, and unity. We strive to create an inclusive environment where every patient, team member, and community feels seen, heard, and valued. Each voice contributes to our collective strength, and every story matters. Together, we can nurture a culture of belonging and respect that empowers everyone. On Monday, September 30th, we will close our sites from 10 AM to Noon. During this time, we will host a session for our team, followed by a moment of reflection. We encourage you to gather with friends, family, or neighbours to honour the healing journeys of residential school survivors and engage in meaningful discussions about the legacy of the residential school system. We invite all patients and staff to leave a message and sign an orange ribbon during your visit. These ribbons will be displayed on our Trees of Reconciliation at each site, serving as a testament to our dedication to healing, unity, and progress. We also encourage everyone to wear an orange shirt to symbolize your commitment to this important day. This initiative is more than just a gesture; it represents our commitment to honouring the past while striving for a brighter, more inclusive future. We encourage you to take part in these symbolic actions, as they demonstrate our dedication to healing, unity, and progress. Thank you for being an essential part of this important journey. Together, we can inspire change in our community and beyond. On behalf of our entire team, Stephen Beckwith Executive Director |
