Standards for Home Care

SETFHT’s own lead physician, Dr. Tia Pham, has been included in an Expert Advisory Group which aims to develop a framework for national principle-based standards for home care.  Along with the Canadian Home Care Association (CHCA) and a panel of fellow recognized home care leaders, Tia will be guiding the development of these standards to ensure consistent and equitable access to high quality home care services.  Wonderful work Tia!  Read more about the initiative here: http://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/work-begins-on-national-principle-based-home-care-standards-630088713.html

Choosing Wisely

Are you taking a lot of medications or supplements? Perhaps you care for a family member who has more pills than you can name? Talk to your doctor, because more is not always better. By reducing unnecessary medications, it’s easier to stick to the meds you really need and you can avoid unnecessary side effects at the same time!
